Blue Suede Shoes: A Tribute to the King

Written by Francie Dennison

Blue Suede Shoes: A Tribute to the King The energy and powerful voice of Roy LeBlanc brings Elvis all the way back to life in this tribute to the King of Rock and Roll. But it's not just the singing and pelvic thrusts that add such spark to this production of Blue Suede Shoes.

Mike Millar as "The Colonel" takes us on the journey of Elvis' singing and movie career, adding little tidbits of Elvis' personal life and the effect of the journey upon the man, giving a fuller dimension to the show.

Looking around the packed theatre, throughout the performance the audience could be seen tapping and moving in their seats in time to the music. Did they sing along? You bet! With the vibrant energy of this show you found yourself singing along without realizing you were doing it.

In a very different kind of standing ovation, as "Elvis" credited the members of his excellent back up band during the encore number of Blue Suede Shoes; staying on their feet, the audience sang along, danced and clapped in time to the rhythm.

Blue Suede Shoes offers a great evening of entertainment and plays at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre until June 5th.
